5 cheap and easy party foods

What is the most important thing you need to throw a party other than people?… FOOD! Great food can be an amazing addition to a party. Here are some simple and cheap recipes to help plan your party!

Jalapeño Poppers

Jalapeño Poppers are a cheap and easy way to spice up any party! These are the perfect snack for football games, taco Tuesdays, or pot lucks! All you need are three ingredients:

  • Jalapeño Peppers
  • Cream Cheese
  • Bacon

These poppers are pretty simple to put together. First cut each of the jalapeños in half and scrape out the seeds (or keep some of the seeds in for some real spice!). Next fill each half jalapeño with cream cheese then take your slice of bacon and wrap it around the pepper. Then put the poppers in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes and BAM! You have a delicious party snack! If you and your guests are not a fan of jalapeños, you can substitute them with pickles, mushrooms, or bell peppers!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Buffalo Chicken Dip (or “buff-chic-dip” for short) is an absolute go-to for parties. It has just a little bit of a kick and a whole lot of flavor to satisfy even the pickiest of party-goers. What you need is:

  • 8 ounces of room temperature cream cheese
  • 2/3 of buffalo sauce
  • 2/3 cup of sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 2 cups of chicken breast (rotisserie or canned)
  • 1 cup of cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of mozzarella
  • (optional) 2 green onions

All you have to do is mix all of these ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, throw it into a baking dish, and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until its bubbly. Your guests will not be able to resist!

Fruit Skewers

Fruit skewers are super simple and can be a sweet treat for you and your guests!

  • 4-5 fruits of your choice
  • skewer sticks
  • (optional) melted chocolate

Just cut up the fruit and stick an assortment on each skewer! Everyone will love this easy grab and go recipe! and if you want to make these more sweet, you can pour melted chocolate over the skewers, throw them in the fridge until the chocolate has hardened, and have yummy chocolate covered fruit!

Crockpot Meatballs

Crockpot meatballs are a perfect toothpick food to have at your event. The fun part about this dish is that you can make as many variations to it as you like! Here is what you will need:

  • 2-3 dozen frozen meatballs
  • sauce of your choice (I like teriyaki)
  • crockpot

All you need to do is put the meatballs along with 3 cups of your favorite sauce (BBQ, teriyaki, etc.) into a crockpot and cook on high for about 2-3 hours. Then, when its time to serve, turn your crockpot on low and have your guests serve themselves! You can even make this dish vegetarian or vegan by using veggie meatballs!

Cheddar and Apple Bruschetta

This dish plays with the flavor of sweet and savory. Additionally, it only requires three ingredients:

  • apple- thinly sliced
  • cheddar cheese- thinly sliced
  • baguette- thinly sliced

All you have to do is layer the cheddar cheese onto the baguette and throw it into the oven at about 300 degrees until the bread become crispy and the cheese is melted. Then throw on your apple slices and there you have it! A dainty finger food for your guest to enjoy!
